Published 10 months ago • 1 min read

STEP 1 • SPEAK
Thank You, Father, for this new year, new beginnings, and fresh starts. We pause today in Your presence with humble hearts. Prepare our minds to receive the truths revealed in Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.

STEP 2 • TEXT
Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. (Psalm 119:37, ESV)

STEP 3 • OBSERVE
Today, let's observe our scripture by summarizing it and identifying the truths it states.
Tip: Record your challenge journey in a notebook or journal.
In your challenge journal, answer the following.
Questions:
How would you summarize Psalm 119:37? What does the verse say, what are the facts?
What truths do you see in Psalm 119:37?
What does it teach you about God?
What does it teach you about mankind/yourself?
What does Psalm 119:37 teach you about renewing your mind and heart? Keep this question in mind as you continue through this challenge. We will revisit this question daily as you continue to meditate on and study this verse.

STEP 4 • REMEMBER
What is one takeaway from your meditation on Psalm 119:37 today?

STEP 5 •YOUR TURN
1. Create a "Re-Focus List" in your challenge journal. Begin by writing one way you can redirect your attention back to Jesus when you are tempted to focus on "worthless things." This may be anything from a scripture verse, to a worship song/hymn, to a short prayer, to texting a godly friend for encouragement. You will add to your list each day of this challenge. Be creative!
2. Take some time to prayerfully meditate on Psalm 119:37 and journal your thoughts.

See you tomorrow! ~Lori
Fall deeper in love with your Savior, one verse at a time.
