Published 9 months ago • 1 min read

STEP 1 • SPEAK
Lord, we come before You today with surrendered hearts. Teach us Your truths as we study Your Word. Guide our paths as we seek to live in Your ways. In Jesus' precious name we pray, Amen.

STEP 2 • TEXT
Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. (Psalm 119:37, ESV)

STEP 3 • OBSERVE
Today, let’s observe the original meanings of words and phrases in Psalm 119:37 (i.e. word studies).

Find word definitions in a Hebrew Lexicon such as Strong’s concordance or in online resources such as BibleHub.com or BlueLetterBible.org.
Pay attention to the definitions that stand out to you and how they affect your insight into this verse. Record your observations in your challenge journal.

Click each word or phrase below to access the Hebrew word definitions at BlueLetterBible.org:

QUESTIONS:
1. How do these definitions deepen your insight into Psalm 119:37?
2. What does Psalm 119:37 teach you about renewing your mind and heart?
3. Re-write Psalm 119:37 in your own words considering the above word studies.

STEP 4 • REMEMBER
What is one takeaway from your meditation on Psalm 119:37 today?

STEP 5 •YOUR TURN
1. Add to your "Re-Focus List" in your challenge journal by writing another way you can redirect your attention back to Jesus when you are tempted to focus on "worthless things."
2. Take some time to prayerfully meditate on Psalm 119:37 and journal your thoughts.

See you tomorrow!
